Lancome

Lancome Designer History:
Armand Petitjean born in 1889, France established Lancome in 1935. It all started while on a countryside escape when he journeyed the remains of an age old castle Le Chateau de Lancosme, and observed the countless rose flowers around it. These roses influenced him to employ the golden rose that we come to know at present as the sign of the business. That exact same year he presented five scents at the World's Fair in Brussels and by the 1950s, his products reached the United States.

Petitjean is known to have learned and acquired experience under the masterful guidance of Francois Coty, "the father of twentieth century luxury perfumes."

Lancome Fragrance History:
Probably Lancome's most famous spokesmodel is legendary Isabella Rossellini the Italian actress, filmmaker, author, philanthropist, and model. She represented the business from 1982 and continued from that position for 14 years. The popular fragrance Tresor is tightly connected with her persona. In June 2007 the company disclosed that Kate Winslet will be positioned as the new face for the re-launch of its classic perfume. Other significant women's aromas are Poeme, Miracle and fairly recently, Hypnose. Its male version, Hypnose Homme, is manifested by Clive Owen, who is the first male spokesmodel for it along with the men's skincare line. Lancome is one of the biggest cosmetics, makeup, skincare and fragrance distributors and producers in its sector and is a division of Loreal.
