Burberry Designer History:
Burberry house was established by Thomas Burberry in 1856, who was at the time 21 years old, in Basingstoke, Hampshire in England. By 1870 the company was recognized as a prominent supplier for outdoor wear. In 1880 he developed gabardine, a water-proof, resilient and breathable material with wool that is waterproofed prior to the weaving process, and patented in 1888. In 1891 he started a shopping center in the Haymarket, London, and presently the site of Burberry’s business head office. In 1904, the Burberry Equestrian Knight Logo was designed and registered as a brand, and in 1914 he was commissioned by the War Office to adjust its officer's jacket, that resulted in the contemporary day trench coat.

The Norwegian traveler and explorer, Captain Roald Amundsen, was outfitted by Burberry when on December 14, 1911 was the first man to arrive at the South Pole. Amundsen left a Burberry gabardine camping tent to notify Captain Scott of his successful quest. After Amundsen arrived at the South Pole, Ernest Shackleton was motivated to be the first traveler to cross the Antarctic region from coastline to coastline and he too was equipped by Burberry in his 1914 journey.

Burberry additionally portrayed a significant role in aeronautics, developing specially engineered clothing for aviators. In 1937 A.E.Clouston and Mrs Betsy Kirby Green made the fastest flight from London to Cape Town. This air competition was won by the partners in a De Havilland DH88 Comet sponsored by Burberry. Throughout the Second World War, Burberry continued to deliver top quality gabardines to servicemen in all divisions of the army. In 1955 Burberry was initially awarded the Royal Warrant from Her Majesty The Queen.

In the 1920's the famous Burberry checker was designed and registered as a trademark and utilized as a lining in its trench coats. In 1967 the Burberry Check was implemented on umbrellas, luggage and scarves. When Rose Marie Bravo had become Chief Executive Officer in 1997, she rejuvenated the company by presenting model Kate Moss in promotional and advertising campaigns along with presenting new creations and items. Before long the red, black, camel, and white check evolved into being identified as Burberry.

The enterprise has branded stores and franchises all over the world, and runs a catalogue company and a fragrance series. Both HM Queen Elizabeth and HRH The Prince of Wales have approved the company Royal Warrants. Presently, Burberry's trademark products are its stylish handbags and exceptional fragrances.

In 1997, a new administration group started to revitalize the brand with new design choices, new product ranges and a unique new advertising campaign. In February of 1999 Burberry presented the first fashion show for its ranges at the time of the London Fashion Week and was awarded as British Classic Design Collection of the Year. Burberry was again honored by the British Fashion Council in 2000 and 2001 in the two Classic and Contemporary design categories. Ever since then, Burberry has carried on to be more creative, expand and please legions of new and loyal fans.

In September 2000, the Burberry international flagship store opened on New Bond Street in London's West End. The structure and appearance displays the new character of Burberry, the authentic luxury brand.

Burberry Fragrance History:
The Burberry fragrance range is the prized treasure of the brand, with Burberry fragrances appearing basically as triumphant as the fashion end of the business. Burberry carry over 10 women's perfumes and more than six fragrances for men, among them Burberry Brit, Burberry Brit Gold, Burberry London, Burberry Touch, Burberry Summer, Burberry Brit Red, Burberry Tender Touch, Burberry Baby Touch and Weekend. The extremely famous Burberry Brit is the most desirable and recognized in the fragrance collection, together with Burberry Brit Gold, which was introduced in 2005. The Burberry perfume collection just-fully challenges its fashion counterpart in total success for the brand.
