Acqua Di Parma

Acqua Di Parma

Acqua di Parma commenced as a modest manufacturing plant in Parma. The first scent was developed in 1916, Colonia, starting out as a gentlemen's handkerchief scent. Colonia evolved into a true sign of Italian chic concerning American and European personalities in the before -war 1930's and after -war 1950's years. Cary Grant and David Niven, Ava Gadner and Eva Turner, soon after accompanied by Audrey Hepburn, had been among the enthusiastic fans of Colonia. Coming from a little factory, Acqua di Parma developed into a leading house with a diverse supply range. Unfortunately, the careless master of Fashion and unforeseen and unfair Fortune ignored this Italian house and times of good reputation were succeeded by the challenging times for survival and to prevent extinction.

At the start of 1990’s, three important and successful Italians, Diego Della Valle (Tod's s.p.a), Luca Cordero Di Montezemolo (Ferrari) and Paolo Borgomanero (La Perla), joint their power in a very loyal inspiration of protecting Italian classic - to restore Acqua di Parma.

They are once again creating the classic perfumes and preparing new initiatives, including aromatherapy line Blu Mediterraneo, scents for rooms, leather gallantry Travel Collection. Seeking for good ventures and setting out at the global market, the three men agreed upon a deal with the luxurious products giant, LVMH, that in 2003 took full ownership of Acqua di Parma. The fabulous Italian design, example of beauty was conserved and has fruitfully carried on with its evolution. Just as before Hollywood has directed its interest to smaller, yet gratifying, Acqua di Parma - the passion of their famed for-runners has now been handed down on to Kevin Costner, Woody Allen, Sharon Stone.
