I've been wearing Chanel Antaeus for many years and hope they will keep this gem on the market for many years to come. The leather and spices are out of this world, what can i say about the intoxicating richness. A sophisticated blend of burnt woods, flowers, smoky, herbs and leather along with masculine castoreum. Words fall poor to describe this tamed beast of ingredients in such masterful perfumery creation... Give this a try and it will make your day!

This is an incredibly complex and ever changing scent. Wearing it for the first time is like the first time with a new lover. There is so much to explore it is overwhelming.

The initial scent comes off musky and spicy. Warning it is very strong and I can see where it could be overpowering. The musky animal scent gets stronger in the dry down and then is a nearly hidden mossy smell. I can also smell the sandalwood.

I think this scent is incredibly masculine in an old school way. I am 44 and I think that I would not have been able to pull this off even 5 years ago.

This is an amazing scent. When it first came out I wasn't into heavy, rich powerhouse scents (probably wearing Eau Sauvage at the time) and always liked it but never bought/wore it. I recently bought a full bottle of vintage and am blown away by how good this is. The clary sage (a note that I love--it shows up in many of my favorite scents) works perfectly with the patchouli and sandalwood but what really sets this apart is the rich honeyed beeswax in the basenotes. It takes it to a whole other place. If this is Chanel's answer to Kouros, then they played the trump card and beat YSL at their own game because this is much better than Kouros (which I want to love--or even like--but is a scrubber of the first degree with me). Beautiful packaging that is distinctive yet very true to the Chanel design esthetic. I did try the new version in a store recently and it smelled just fine to me--more men should wear it, is all.

Beautiful scent. Warm, powdery and sensous. Not overpowering but with just enough oomph to make you stand out against a crowd. So differnt from the scents of today. A real yesteryear frangrance, but one that stands the the test of time. The addition of oak moss makes this a scent you will swoon over.A grown up scent for ther man who is sophisticated!
